%26lt;%26lt;Almost 20 years after the spill, a team of scientists at the University of North Carolina found that the effects are lasting far longer than expected. The team estimates some shoreline habitats may take up to 30 years to recover. .... However, a study from scientists from NOAA concluded that this contamination can produce chronic low-level exposure, discourage subsistence where the contamination is heavy, and decrease the ';wilderness character'; of the area.%26gt;%26gt;

%26lt;%26lt;How much oil remains? The survey indicates a total area of approximately 20 acres of shoreline in Prince William Sound are still contaminated with oil. Oil was found at 58 percent of the 91 sites assessed and is estimated to have the linear equivalent of 5.8 km of contaminated shoreline.%26gt;%26gt;Is the oil cleaned up from Exxon's oil spill a while back?
It is.
