Was the Exxon Valdez oil spill an example of biomagnification?

No.


If the oil that had been spilled was taken up into some creature efficiently and retained in its body because it was hard to excrete, you could say that the spill lead to biomagnification. Biomagnification is the increase in concentration of some chemical that is in the food chain. Oil is not in any food chain that I know of.
